Steps for Your Treatment

At our clinic, we understand that every communication challenge is unique. That's why we offer a personalized approach to speech therapy, tailored to your specific needs and goals. Here's what you can expect during your journey with us:

1. Intake Consultation

We begin with a friendly consultation to discuss your concerns and goals. We record demographic, insurance and clinical data and schedule you for a 60-minute evaluation. Therapy is also scheduled at this time so that IF it is needed you have the correct therapist available. Thereafter our insurance assistant will discuss the insurance benefits that your insurance company reports to us. We help you log into your patient portal and explain how to use it to find reports, progress summaries, billing information and how to message us.

2. Evaluation

Our evaluations are 60 minutes long. Caregivers MUST be with their loved one at all times. You will come to our offices where your Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will pick you and the patient up in the waiting room. We conduct a comprehensive evaluation which results in a written treatment plan that is sent to you and your doctor (for signature). It's important that parents, caregivers, and even associated medical staff are active participants in the evaluation and treatment process. When caregivers understand and agree with the care for a loved one, the results are hard to deny. We strive to have evaluation reports completed and sent to you by the following day.

What You’ll Need for Your Evaluation:

  • No prescription or doctor visit is required prior to your evaluation.

  • We kindly request a copy of your autism evaluation with the diagnosis clearly stated for clinical and insurance purposes. However, we can receive this after your evaluation.

  • We require a prescription for voice evaluation and therapy with a diagnosis clearly stated from an Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor (Otolaryngologist) for clinical and insurance purposes. Provide a video on a USB drive or your laryngoscopy when possible.

  • If you're seeking treatment for voice or swallowing difficulties (dysphagia), please bring a copy of your doctor's referral (prescription) to your evaluation. Medicare patients should provide a prescription for swallow evaluation and therapy from their primary care doctor or another doctor who takes Medicare.

  • Customers who have been classified by the Department of Developmental Disabilities as adults with a developmental disorder require a specific prescription that states they require “habilitative care”. Please reach out to our DDD intake coordinator to help you and your Service Coordinator obtain the necessary documentation. We are happy to help.

3. Treatment

Based on the evaluation results, your SLP will develop a personalized treatment plan designed to address your unique needs. Treatment sessions may involve a variety of techniques and activities, all tailored to help you achieve your communication goals.

Additional Considerations:

Speech therapy may be just one piece of the puzzle. We may recommend coordinating care with your physician or other healthcare professionals, such as a physical therapist (PT), to ensure a comprehensive approach to your care.
